The skills and abilities that I can offer to the citizens of Ridgecrest are:

 

Ø      Listening and Communication:  I have been a victim's advocate for people suffering through sexual assault, domestic violence and child abuse for 17 years.  Good communication and listening skills can be utilized in dealing with a victim or may be used listening and "hearing" the citizens of Ridgecrest.

 

Ø      Knowledge of federal, state, county and city legislation:  One of my job responsibilities is to act as a liaison with our legislators, law enforcement and judicial system.  I have remained knowledgeable of what our legislators are doing and how it would affect this community.  I have know that by being knowledgeable and informed our legislators will listen to what you have to say and are more willing to work with us to solve problems and encourage positive growth in our community.

 

Ø      Love and concern for the well being of our community:  Ridgecrest is in my heart.  Yes, we may suffer the lack of some of the amenities that more urban areas can offer but we make up for that by having some of the finest and most caring people on the face of the earth.

 

Ø      Ridgecrest is overlooked by our county government way too much.  Our 1^st district supervisor has done a wonderful job of changing this, but he cannot do it alone.  It is the responsibility of our council to fight for what is best for our community.  I am not afraid to go toe to toe with anyone and will fight for what is right for this community.
