Key
issues as a council member:
¯
Public Safety: No matter
how much we grow, our growth will not be positive if this is not a safe place
to live.
¯
Infrastructure: Our
streets, roads, drainage, curbs and gutters need to be a priority. Ridgecrest has seen some tough
financial times. We need to be
creative with our new prosperity.
Council needs to encourage staff to continue to look for grants that
will provide matching funds so that we may apply for state and federal funding.
¯
Youth Activities: Our
youth are our future. We are
charged with making their growing up years a positive experience.
¯
Senior Long Term Care:
Our seniors are how we became what we are. We owe our seniors a positive, peaceful golden time of their
lives.
Thoughts
on issues in our community:
¯
Economic Development should be approached as two-fold. We must continue to support NAWS China
Lake and BRAC in every way possible.
We must also seek light to medium industry into our community.
¯
Eminent Domain: Should NEVER
be used until all other resources are explored and then only for the good of
the whole community. It should
never be used to take from one business to give to another.
¯
Structured Growth: Our
growth should be done in a positive manner with an emphasis on low
density. By doing this we will be
able to maintain our "small town" atmosphere.
